Generally, each student should have one lesson per week, with frequent practicing in between lessons. If the student is very young and/or a beginner, we would suggest starting with 30-minute lessons. As the student advances in ability, or if the student is an older (roughly teenage) beginner, it might be necessary to move up to a 45 or 60-minute lesson. If you have any questions about lesson lengths, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Violins
Students will need to provide their own instrument for violin lessons. Having the right instrument is very important for the student to be successful with violin lessons. Violins come in different sizes to make it possible for children of different ages to play the instrument comfortably. There is a store in Nashville called Williams Fine Violins that can help fit students with the correctly sized instrument. In addition, they will allow you to rent-to-own the violin for around $25 per month if you don't want to buy the instrument outright! I would highly recommend that you consult this store or another music store before purchasing an instrument!
Guitars
Students will need to provide their own instrument for guitar lessons as well. Just like violins, guitars can come in different sizes to make the instrument easier to play for those with smaller hands. Our guitar teacher recommends the Sam Ash Music Store located in Madison, TN. Please visit this or another music store for help getting the correct sized instrument for your student before you begin lessons!

Madison Street Music and Arts Academy
Many of our teachers also teach at Madison Street Music and Arts Academy on Madison Street in downtown Clarksville. If this location works better for you, please feel free to register there. The Academy also has many other offerings, including Kindermusik and youth ensembles. In addition, the Academy partners with the Clarksville Youth Enrichment Program (CYEP), which offers tutoring in school subjects and classes in other practical skills, such as sewing. I would encourage you to check them out!
